Wrocław based gaming studio Mousetrap Games for the second time has taken the top spot at the international competition The Big Indie Pitch, which took place at the PG Connect in London. The awarded title is Rocat Jumpurr, to be released later this year.

The Big Indie Pitch is a great opportunity to test our game before release and to make adjustments that will make the gaming community fall in love with it. The award has also a significant bearing on business, as investors and potential partners attend events such as the Big Indie Pitch – says Edward Mężyk, the CEO of Mousetrap Games. – I am very proud of our team, as only two other companies managed to win the competition more than once – he adds.

The Big Indie Pitch is a regular event organized by Steel Media, owner of PocketGamer.co.uk.  The speed-dating style competition gives independent developers a chance to showcase their games to the industry experts and journalists. Each year a number of editions of The Big Indie Pitch are being held – separately for mobile games and PC & consoles.

28 companies qualified for the flagship London edition. Everyone presented their games during a 4-minute pitch in front of a 16-member jury. The experts included, among others, Trevor Stricker (Mightier), Nick Carr (Lion Studios), and Simon Prytherch (Kwalee).

We have been developing Rocat Jumpurr for many months. It is a great challenge to convince experts in just a few minutes that your game is the best. The jury in London appreciated the graphical details of   our production, its mechanic and humor. – in other words, they fell in love with a world of explosions and kittens – says Marcin Gola, Game Director at Mousetrap Games.

Rocat Jumpurr will debut later this year. It is the third original IP created by Wrocław based Mousetrap Games. Last year the studio enriched the mobile games world releasing Run the Beat, a game often described as a mix of Guitar Hero and Super Mario Bros. The production took gold at the winter 2019 Berlin edition of The Big Indie Pitch.
