Parent company Premium Fund SA is already listed on NewConnect

The parent company of the gaming studio Mousetrap Games seeks to raise up to 2 million PLN in a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdway.pl. The makers of such award winning mobile titles as “Rocat Jumpurr” and “Run the Beat” will use the financing secured from the crowd investors for next innovative projects. In the upcoming months the new F series shares will be traded on NewConnect, where the company is already listed as Premium Fund SA.

Mousetrap Games is a gaming company based in Wrocław, specializing in the development of mobile games. The company was founded in 2017 and has since won twice in the international competition The Big Indie Pitch. First in the 2019 Berlin edition for the music platformer ”Run the Beat”, and then in the 2020 London edition for ”Rocat Jumpurr”, a game about the adventures of a cute cat with a bazooka. The game was praised for humour, graphics and gameplay. ”Rocat Jumpurr” will debut later this year.

According to analyst’s estimates, the global gaming market is worth $152,1 billion and grows at a 20% rate annually. Mobile gaming takes approximately 45% of this market. As we already have award winning titles in our portfolio, as well as plans to launch 15 more titles, we view this segment of the market as crucial to our continuing success. We would like to welcome the crowdfunding community to join us on this path. – says Edward Mężyk, CEO of Mousetrap Games Sp z o.o. and the new CEO of Premium Fund SA.

Mousetrap Games has recently undergone capital restructuring with aim to bring shares that will be offered during the crowdfunding campaign for trading on NewConnect in such a way that minimises time and costs for the company. – The transaction consisted of acquisition of shares of the NewConnect listed Premium Fund SA and folding Mousetrap Games into that company. The transition period is nearly completed – says Edward Mężyk. Premium Fund is currently awaiting registration of name change to Oxygen SA. The shares of Mousetrap Games were contributed into Premium Fund and therefore Mousetrap Games became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premium Fund SA.

As part of the crowdfunding campaign on Crowdway.pl, Premium Fund SA will offer shares to   prospective investors as well as a set of investor and gaming benefits. The minimum investment  is 300 PLN. – What is important, the shares acquired by crowd investors will be listed on NewConnect shortly and, as a result, ready for resale whenever investors wish to do so – said Edward Mężyk.

15 new games by the end of 2020

The growth plans of the group, which Mousetrap Games is a part of, for 2020-2025 consist of focusing on the mobile games segment, in particular the hypercasual, midcore and hybrid categories. The company seeks to create and produce its own IP, as well as acquire third party  titles. Their shared traits are: engaging content, beautiful graphics and surprising gameplay.– By the end of 2020 Mousetrap Games will have published 15 new titles. The first title to premier will be “Rocat Jumpurr”, which has already garnered praise from the industry experts. The titular character is a cat with a bazooka who must overcome the adversities of life. In advanced production are, among others, card and logic games – says the CEO.

The cumulative revenues of Mousetrap Games after the three quarters of 2019 were 782,4 thousand PLN, with EBITDA at 321,7 thousand PLN.

Towards “fast-grow”

Two years ago the developers from Mousetrap Games began creating games aimed at the Polish market, and after just a few months they climbed to the top ten of the biggest Polish developers at the mobile game market. In 2018 the company created an innovative gameplay concept that blended two previously unrelated game categories – platforming and rhythm games. This resulted in creation of “Run The Beat”, which in 2019 gained international praise among both experts and gamers by taking gold at The Big Indie Pitch in Berlin. A year later, the company repeated its success, this time with “Rocat Jumpurr” at the London PG Connect’s The Very Big Indie Pitch.

Starting in 2020, the company began implementing a strategy based on data science, which guides the biggest players on the market.

The Wrocław based The Knights of Unity joined the investors of Mousetrap Games. The company provides professional Unity programming services. At the moment, the Knights have a team of 80 people and have over 90 projects under their belt for clients around the globe. They lent their services to some of the highest rated games of 2019 – Disco Elysium, CD PROJEKT RED’s Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and the PC Building Simulator.
